JAMMU, July 11: Today St. Peter’s Catholic Church entered in the semifinal in the ongoing Inter-Church Cricket Championship at Alexander School ground, Jammu. Last league match was played between St. Peter’s Catholic Church and Carmel Assemblies Church .Carmel Assemblies Church bating first scored only 65 runs for all out in 10.5 overs. Jacub and Aman were the main scorers who scored 16 and 12 runs for the team . For St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Nitu ,Amit and Avinash sabee took 2 wkts each, Rajesh, Simon and Ravi took one wicket each. In reply , St. Peter’s Catholic Church Chased the target of 65 runs in seven overs for the lost of 5 wickets. Ravi was the main scorer who scored 36 runs and hit 4 sixes and 3 boundaries whereas Avinash was the other batsman who scored 13 runs and hit one six . For Carmel Assemblies Church Jacub and Ashish took 2 wickets each.Man of the match was awarded to Ravi.
The match was officiated by Rakul , Sunny,Sandeep & Amit as umpires, while Sanjay Bhatti acted as scorer.
The tournament is being organized by Christian Sports Org, J&k whereas David Mattoo and Victor Sotra are the organizing secretaries of the tournament and the tournament is organized under the overall supervision of Rajesh Gill, President of Christian Sports Organization J&K.
Tomorrow’s Fixture: first semifinal match shall be played between St. Peter’s Catholic Church-A and Church of North India at 3 pm.
