JAMMU, Aug 11: Police organised painting competitions in different Sub-Divisions of Jammu under the supervision of respective Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), here today.
About 160 students of Government HSSS AKhnoor, GHSS Domana, Government Girls HSS Nagrota, Dewan Devi HSS Rajpura Mangotrian, GHSS Central Basic Super Bazar Purani Mandi Jammu, Government Girls HSS Gandhi Nagar, GHSS Channi Himmat and Government Girls HSS RS Pura participated in the event.
The competition was held under the supervision of the respective officers of Sub-Divisional Police Officers including Akhnoor, Domana, Nagrota, West, North, South, East and RS Pura.
The competition was held in two categories including the 21 years category and below 14 years category. The top three performers from both the categories shall again compete in the final round which is scheduled to be held on August 13 at DPL Jammu.
Moreover, all the participants were given the appreciation certificates and applauded for their active participation. The purpose of the painting competition was to rejoice and celebrate the national festival like other festivals.
Meanwhile, Doda Police also organised inter-school debate competition at District Police Line, here today.
On this occasion, SSP Doda, Abdul Qayoom was the chief guest, whereas Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda, Dr Ravi Kumar Bharti was the guest of honour and SP Headquarter, Master Popsy presided over the debate competition.
PN Tiku Deputy Commandant IR 5th Bn, Tanveer Ahmed Wani Principal, GHSS Trown and Musarrat Mintoo, Lecturer DIET were among the penal who judged the debate competition, whereas Raj Kumar, SP PC; Shokat Ali, Deputy SP DAR and other officers/officials of DPL Doda were also present on the occasion.
Khalid Bashir and Muzamil Irshad students of Chenab Valley Public School Doda clinched 1st and 2nd positions respectively, whereas Meenakshi Goria of GHSS Doda and Indra Devi of Paramount HSS Doda shared 3rd position.
The winners were awarded with cash prizes of 2000, Rs 1500 and Rs 1000 respectively for securing 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively along with participation certificates, whereas nine consolation prizes were also distributed among participants.
