Trimurti Balidan Yaadgar T-20 Cup inaugurated

JAMMU, Mar 21: SSP Traffic Jammu City, Shiv Kumar Sharma inaugurated Trimurti Balidan Yaadgar T-20 Cricket Cup, being organised by National Secular Forum (NSF) at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here today.
The chief guest was accompanied by Ankush Abrol, former member BCCI; Dr Vinod Bakshi, Physical Director GGM Science College, Dr Naresh Sharma and Dr Vivek Sharma as the guests of honour, while Bisham Padha, Devender Padha and Ashish Khajuria were the special guests.
Earlier, in the first match, Bhagwati Cricket Club got the better of Media XI Cricket Club in an easy contest by four wickets in a low scoring match.
Media XI CC scored a paltry total of 90 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Faheem Tak top scored with 33 runs off 45 balls, studded with four boundaries, while Sunil and Vivek Suri contributed 13 runs each.
In reply, Bhagwati Cricket Club chased the target easily in 16 overs by losing six wickets, thus won the match by four wickets. Ravinder, Raj Kumar and Rishu contributed 15, 12 and 10 runs respectively. For Media XI, Faheem Tak and Vivek Suri took three wickets each. Faheem Tak was adjudged as the man of the match.
In another match of the day, JU Employees XI defeated Jammu Sports by two wickets in a close contest.
Batting first, Jammu Sports scored a modest total of 110 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Koushal top scored with 43 runs, while Mukesh and Vishal contributed 20 and 14 runs to the total respectively. From bowling side, Balwan was the wrecker-in-chief, who took four important wickets by conceding 17 runs in his 4 overs, while Sumit and Avtar claimed one wicket each.
In reply, JU Employees XI chased the target in 17.2 overs on the loss of eight wickets. Pankaj made highest 25 runs, while Avtar contributed valuable unbeaten 35 runs. From bowling side, Sonu and Rajnish took three wickets each, while Mukesh bagged two wickets.
Dr Sushil Sharma, renowned Heart Specialist was the chief guest for the match while Ankush Abrol, former Ranji player was the guest of honour.
The chief guest presented man of the match award to Avtar from JU Employees XI, for his splendid batting display with the bat & ball. Later, Ankush Abrol also felicitated the chief guest by presenting a memento.
The tournament is being organised under the overall supervision of Dr Vikas Sharma president NSF, whereas Dayal and Sanju acted as umpires and the proceedings of the inaugural function were conducted by Rajesh Dhar, former chairman Media Committee JKCA.
