FCC emerges winner in KPL-1

SRINAGAR, May 5: Friends Cricket Club (FCC) Andargam Palhallan, Pattan emerged as winners in the final of the first phase of Kashmir Premier League (KPL) Chinar Cup which concluded today at picturesque grounds of Warpura Nambal in Sopore area of North Kashmir.
FCC defeated Twoes Cricket Club Janwara by 7 wickets in the summit clash.
A huge crowd of supporters of both the teams was present to pep up and cheer their teams including some village heads. Captain of FCC Andargam Palhanan was adjudged as man of the match, whereas he also emerged as man of the series for his brilliant performance during the tournament.
64 teams from Sopore, Palhallan, Sangrama and neighboring villages participated in this league.
The league was organised by 22 Rastriya rifles (Punjab) with an aim of popularizing sports among the youth and promote bonhomie between the “Awam and Fauj”.
Meanwhile, 30 probables have been selected who will undergo further coaching and selected 15 players will represent a team from Sopore in the inter-district second phase of the KPL 2013.
Commander 5-Sector RR, Brigadier JP Mathew gave away attractive team trophies, cash prize, individual prizes and certificates to the players.
