District Srinagar Mountain Running C’ship held

SRINAGAR, May 5: The first ever District Srinagar Mountain Running Championship was organized in Srinagar today.
The Championship was held at Shank Achariya hills in Srinagar.
Over 300 boys and girls participated in the championship. Taveer Hussain bagged first place in the senior men category, Hamid Aziz secured second while Vilayat
Hussain got third position in the same category.
In girls section, Misbah bagged first, Ambreen second and Ifra third position, while Danish Farooq secured first position in junior boys category, Faizan Shafi bagged second and Tanzeel third position in the same category.
Chief Postmaster General J&K, John Samuel flagged off the championship, who later on distributed the prizes among the winners.
The championship was organized by the District Srinagar Mountain Running Association.
Mountain Running is a part of Athletics and the sport is being promoted in India by Indian Mountain Running Association under the aegis of World Mountain Running Association.
