JAMMU, Sept 16: 9th Jammu District JI-JITSU Championship, organised by Tarsem Sharma, general secretary of JI-JITSU and Rohit Thakral, technical director, commenced at Sports Council’s Indoor Hall Bhagwati Nagar, here today.
The championship was inaugurated by Rajesh Gupta, president VHP, Mahant Rajesh Bittu in presence of Councillor Amit Gupta and Rajiv Gupta, president Lower Gumat Bazaar Association.
The opening ceremony started with the lighting of a lamp, followed by felicitation of the dignitaries of the event with bouquets and mementos.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Gupta said that the championship organised by J&K JI-JITSU Association is a good step to keep the youth engaged in improving themselves during these tough Covid-19 pandemic times.
Mahant Rajesh Bittu appreciated the efforts of members of J&K JI-JITSU Association and said that the J&K JI-JITSU Association is well recognised by J&K Sports Council but they have not been provided any financial support to organise the championship.
