JAMMU, Mar 23: 8th J&K State Shooting Championship got underway at General Zorawar Singh Rifle Club, Dogra Educational Complex, Bari Brahmana, here today.
The championship, which began today will conclude on March 28, 2018.
About 300 shooters from across the State will battle for top honours and aim for the bulls eye.
The championship was declared open by firing of inaugural shots by the chief guest and young shooters at the world class shooting range.
Kuldeep Singh Jamwal in his opening address briefed the august gathering about the activities of the Association. He was all praise for the shooters of J&K who are bringing laurels for the State and Country.
It is pertinent to mention here that Shreya Saxena of JKRA represented India in Junior Asian Championship at WAKO, Japan 2017, besides winning 11 gold and 2 silver medals in National Championships in 2017, while Kavya Kochhar of JKRA bagged 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal in National competitions in the year 2017.
Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary DET and General Secretary, General Zorawar Singh Rifle Club in his address said that the main motive of construction of Shooting Range was to promote shooting sports.
Mubarak Singh, Director (Administrator and CD) and Joint Secretary General Zorawar Singh Rifle Club presented vote of thanks.
