5 Ladakh Scouts lifts Inter-Bn Ice Hockey C’ship

JAMMU, Dec 31: In a well fought final, the defending champion 5 Ladakh Scouts defeated 2 Ladakh Scouts by seven goals to nil (7-0) and lifted the Inter-Battalion  Hockey Championship at frozen Gupuk Lake, today.
The Championship was organised by Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre with an objective to help hockey players hone their skill. The competition was fought heartily and enthusiastically between the skilled Ice Hockey teams of all five Battalions of the Regiment.
The 6-days League cum knockout competition had begun on December 26, 2012.
Brig SS Birdie, Station Commander, Leh Garrison was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up temas.  Hav Rinchen Tundup of 5 Ladakh Scouts was adjudged best player of the tournament for scoring 12 goals in 4 matches.
On the occasion, Figure Skating was demonstrated by skilful girls from Leh, who had represented India at various international meets.
