JAMMU, Sept 28: The 45th Jammu District Table Tennis Championship was declared open today by Sanjay Wahi, a veteran Table Tennis player and J&K Champion at Indoor Sports Complex MA Stadium, here today.
The championship was declared open in presence of all the participants and galaxy of sports lovers in a colourful function.
The four day championship is being organised by J&K Table Tennis Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council under the initiative of “My Youth My Pride”, wherein about 200 players have registered their entries in different age categories in both men and women section.
In under-13 boys, Ritvik beat Jatin by 2-0, while Arman defeated Krishna by 2-0 and Kritin trounced Shivansh by 2-0, whereas in under-13 girls, Nitya got better of Drishti by 2-0, whereas Gunjan beat Kanvi by 2-0.
Prominent persons who participated in the opening ceremony of the championship included Satish Gupta Manager Indoor Sports Complex, Ajay Sharma, Satbir Singh, I.P. Singh, Saleem Bandey, Narinder Singh, Rajan Sharma, Dr Ratnagar Sharma, Dr. Ruby Naz, Riaz Ahmed, Sheetal Gandotra, Vasu Dewan, Meenu Ragesh, Vikas Gupta and others.
