40th Jammu District Badminton C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Aug 6: The 40th Jammu District Badminton Championships 2025 concluded at the Badminton Hall, MA Stadium, here today. The prestigious event was organised by the Jammu City & District Badminton Association (JCDBA) under the aegis of the Badminton Association of J&K (BAJK) and in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council.
Yudhveer Sethi, MLA Jammu East was the chief guest for the concluding ceremony and awarded prizes to the winners. He praised the efforts of JCDBA for organising the championship successfully and highlighted the role of sports in keeping youth away from mobile addiction and drugs. He also congratulated all medal winners and their parents and wished them success in future tournaments.
Prominent guests present on the occasion included Dr. O.D. Sharma, Vice President BAI; Balbir Jamwal, General Secretary BAJK; Ankush Manhas, Legal Advisor BAJK; S.K. Sharma and Pawanjit Singh, Vice Presidents JCDBA; Arshi Nad, Manager, Indoor Complex; and Anil Gurkha, Treasurer JCDBA. Matches were conducted under the supervision of coaches Touseef Ahmad and Vikram Saini.
In the results, Ruhani Gupta won the Girls U-11 singles title defeating Aliza Fatima. In Boys U-13 singles, Vivan Chib triumphed over Utkarsh Bhau, while Akshini Manhas defeated Tejaswini Pandho in Girls U-13. Jasgur Singh & Shaswat won Boys U-13 doubles against Rajverdhan & Adharvya and Sanvi & Anaya secured Girls U-13 doubles title over Kirat & Tejaswini. Kartik Gupta and Paavni Gupta won Boys and Girls U-15 singles, respectively. Boys U-15 doubles was clinched by Kartik & Arman. In U-17, Gopesh Singh and Suhani Sharma emerged singles champions. Karamveer & Param Raina won Boys U-17 doubles. Gopesh Singh also won the Boys U-19 and Men’s Singles titles, while Shaouryaveer Jasrotia & Vaibhav Mehta bagged the Men’s Doubles title.
