JAMMU, May 3: Four day Zonal Level Inter-School Tournament of Jourian Zone, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, concluded at Girls High School, Jourian, here.
The Tournament was held under the patronage of Navin Agarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports, J&K and under the chairmanship of Rishi Kumar, Deputy Director, Jammu.
The competitions were held as part of annual calendar of activities, under the supervision of Veer Ji Bhat, Zonal Physical Education Officer, Jourian.
On the concluding day, Headmaster GHS Jourian was the chief guest, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams in girls section.
Earlier, in kabaddi Under-14 girls final, Nirmala HS defeated MS Bandwal Colony by (28-14), while in Under-17 girls final, GHS Jourian thrashed HS Gurha Manhasan by (27-10).
In volleyball Under-17 girls final, GHS Jourian got better of Nirmala HS in straight sets by (2-0), while in kho-kho Under-17 girls title clash, Nirmala HS Dhangar outplayed HS Kaleeth in a thrilling contest and in kho-kho Under-14 girls, HS Kaleeth got better of HS Jourian by 11 points (17-6).
The matches were officiated by Ashok Kumar, PEM; Shyam Krishan Singh, PEM; Jagan Nath, PEM; Devinder Singh, PET and Shyam Singh, PET.
