POONCH, Nov 10: The 36th Poonch District Open Table Tennis Championship concluded with thrilling finals at the Table Tennis Hall, Sports Stadium Poonch, held under the aegis of the J&K Table Tennis Association and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council.
In the Men’s Singles final, Adnan emerged champion after defeating Ridhik Kapoor by 3-1 in a closely contested match. In the Women’s Singles, Arushika Dabur outplayed Vanshika by 3-1 to lift the title. The Men’s Doubles final witnessed an exciting clash, with the pair of Zaffer and Adnan edging past Mudassar and Gagan by 3-2 to claim the trophy.
DC Poonch Ashok Sharma was the chief guest, while DDC Chairperson Tazeem Akhter graced the event as guest of honour. DC Sharma lauded the players’ talent and appreciated the association’s role in promoting sports in the border district.
Saleem Bandey, General Secretary of the Association, highlighted the organisation’s continuous efforts over the past 36 years in promoting table tennis in Poonch. Both dignitaries assured full support for future events. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes among winners and participants amidst great enthusiasm and applause.
