320 teams across Valley participate in cricket tourney

SRINAGAR, May 20: The junior cricket championship organized by State Sports Council concluded today with the final match being played between Sumbal and Zainapora, Shopian teams.
Conducted for the first time by the Sports Council in collaboration with DPS, 320 teams representing 4800 players across Kashmir valley participated in the tournament in which 319 matches were played.
Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti visited the venue of the final match today and watched the game for some time. She met the players and encouraged them to play in a sportsmanship spirit.
Minister for IT & Youth Services & Sports, Moulvi Imran Raza Ansari; legislators, Aijaz Mir and Raja Manzoor; Secretary, Youth Services & Sports, Hilal Parray; Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone; Secretary, J&K Sports Council, Waheed ur Rehman Parra; Principal and management of DPS, Athwajan and a large number of cricket lovers were present on the occasion.
