udhampur, Feb 18: Spo-nsored by Department of Science and Technology, Udhampur, a three days Scien-ce Awareness & Application Workshop concluded today at GDC Ramnagar, here. Principal of the College, Prof Tara Nath was the chief guest and Prof Kewal Kumar was the guest of honour.
A total of seventy students participated in the programme.
On the first day an Educational visit to IIIM, Jammu was organized for firsthand knowledge, awareness and applied learning. The participants visited the various divisions of IIIM wherein around 3o interactive lectures were delivered by the experts of different labs, scientists and also by Sanjay Kharoo, Assistant Director Department of Science and Technology.
On the second day, Poster Making and Poster Presentation competition was held on the topic Environmental Degrada-tion/ Sustainable Development in which the 25 student participants sketched and covered many fields ranging from Environment, biodiversity, pollution to technology to Latest Developments in various fields of science.
The cash prize of Rs 500, Rs 400, Rs 300 for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and three consolation prizes of Rs. 200 were bagged by Vishal Sharma, Sapana Thakur, Rupali thakur, Nisha, Sheetal Sharma and Jasmeen respectively. Kewal Kumar, Sanjana and Meenakshi Jamwal were the judges of the event.
On the last Day of the workshop today, a Symposium and interactive discussions with the experts were organized on the Topic Wildlife conservation and role of Youth which around 25 students participated in the event. The cash prize of Rs 500, Rs 400, Rs 300 and three consolation prizes were bagged by Yash Paul Dogra, Sukanya Gupta, Hans Raj, Rakesh Singh, Pallavi, Sapna Devi. Prof. Pankaj Sharma, Sanjana Mahajan and Meenakshi Jamwal were the judges.
