RAMBAN, Oct 4: The 2nd District Ramban Taekwondo Championship organised by District Ramban Taekwondo Association under the aegis of Jammu Kashmir Taekwondo Association concluded here today.
More than 50 students took part in this championship including boys and girls.
Martial Club Banihal won overall trophy by securing maximum number of medals.
Afaq Ahmed Giri and Bashir UL Hassan were the main guests, while Shabir Ahmed Mir Roshni Foundation NGO, Mohammad Idrees Wani President Banihal Volunteers NGO and Mohammad Tazim Wani District Officer were guests of honour. Arvind Satti SAI Coach Khelo India Centre Gool was special invitee. Martial Club Banihal Coach Nayeem Masroor was also present on the occasion.
The championship was conducted under the supervision of Sohaib Masroor Secretary District Ramban Taekwondo Association.
The technical team comprised Owais Wani, Mohsin Rafiq Wani, Touseef Ahmed and Moin ul Islam.
Speaking on the occasion, Afaq Ahmed Giri and Bashir ul Hassan praised the efforts of Taekwondo Association of Ramban and said involving students in sports and organising championship like this is very appreciable step for promoting sports culture in area. They also said that the day is very near when students of Ramban District will participate in International and National competitions.
Sub Junior, Cadet and Junior Gold Medallists were Ehsan Ul Haq, Fozan Tariq, Sarmad Khursheed, Sahil Mushtaq, Inaam Ullah Khan, Shahrukh Naik, Arbaaz Rashid Wani, Hazik Gani, Shihaab Khursheed, Mohammad Abdullah, Mohammad Ashadullah Wani, Faisal Iqbal, Umar Muzammil and Manshur Ahmed Naik.
The Silver Medallists (boys) were Yasir Hameed, Fazil Ahmed, Syed Sanan, Ishfaq Tanveer, Musadiq Shabir, Faizan Butt, Musadiq Idrees, Owais Ahmed, Mohammad Adeeb, Vansh Sharma, Arsalan Bashir and Adhyan Jaral while the Bronze medallists were Azan Ahmed Mir and Arman.
In Girls, Hadia Masroor secured Gold medals, while Hania Malik bagged Silver medal. In Poomsae, Arbaz Rashid and Yasir Hamid secured Gold medals, while Musadiq Shabir bagged Silver medal.
