2nd Cycling C’ship culminates at MA Stadium

JAMMU, Mar 31: Second J&K UT level Cycling Championship, organised by Cycling Association of Jammu & Kashmir (CAJK) and sponsored by J&K Sports Council (JKSC), culminated at MA Stadium, here today.
DG Youth Services & Sports, Saleem-Ul-Rehman was the chief guest during the valedictory function, whereas JKOA president, Prof Ashutosh Sharma was special guest.
While speaking on valedictory function, the chief guest was impressed with the large participation in the cycling championship and appreciated the efforts of Association for organising the event.
He promised that the Department was mulling to construct each velodrome at Jammu and Srinagar along with cycling tracks and expressed confidence that the sport will definitely channelize the energy of youth in positive direction and keep the young generation away from the menace of drugs.
In men junior MTB, Moin Nabi of Srinagar stood 1st, while Hilal Ahmad Dar of Srinagar bagged 2nd position and Adnan Bashir remained 3rd, whereas girls (elite) MTB, Suman Kumar of Jammu stood 1st, Shagun Chib of Jammu clinched 2nd position and Arti Billoria of Jammu stood 3rd besides in men elite MTB, Akash Bhat of Jammu, Anish Dubey and Manav Radha of Jammu clinched top three positions respectively.
Earlier, president of the Association, Ravinder Singh presented a brief note on the o cycling championship, whereas vote of thanks was presented by general secretary Sarwant Singh Gill.
The chief guest also awarded technical and officials staff of the different Associations including Kuljeet Singh Jamwal (Basketball), Ravi Salgotra (CAJK), Sunil Sharma (Archery), Kiran Wattal (Gymnastic), Sahil Sharma (JKP), Rajan Sharma (Boxing), Vikas Gupta (Judo), Ravinder Singh (Athletic), Ajay Sharma (Athletic), Vijay Saraf (Wushu), Om Parkash (Cycling), Shiv Kumar Sharma, Vinod Bhatia (Yoga), Sharat Chander Sharma (Athletic), Dr Taran Singh (Hockey), Ravi Singh (Ex. Divisional Sports Officer), Tejinder Singh (Gymnastic), Vishwamittar (Football), Mandeep Kour (Technical Member), Vishinder Kour (Techanical Member), Rahul Kumar, Vikesh Sharma, Surinder Singh Gill and Shiv Kumar Sharma.
