SRINAGAR, Aug 4: The 28th Srinagar District Billiards and Snooker Championship commenced in Snooker Academy Rajbagh, here today.
The district championship has been organised by J&K Billiards and Snooker Association under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council after the gap of four years in Srinagar.
The championship has been organised under the supervision of Umer Himayun, vice-president (Kashmir), Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association. Umer said there were 64 Snooker players participating in both senior and junior categories and after the conclusion of senior category matches, junior matches of Snooker will be held in the same venue.
The results of today’s senior category Snooker matches were Aqib Farooq defeated Bazil Khan by 59-34, 67-24, Zuhaib Bashir defeated Toyaib by 59-33, 70-39, Tabish Peer defeated Shahbaaz by 62-25, 59-33 and Kamran Majid defeated Junaid by 53-29, 61-40.
