JAMMU, Dec 25: Wushu Association of J&K and J&K State Sports Council is organizing 28th Senior National Wushu Championship at New Indoor Hall MA Stadium here from tomorrow to December 31.
The Wushu Association of India had allotted this event to the Wushu Association of J&K during the Annual General meeting of WAI.
This was disclosed by the President of the Wushu Association of J&K and Vice President of the Wushu Association of India Vijay Saraf.
More than 1200 participants from 42 affiliated units of Wushu Association of India including 8 departmental organizations have confirmed participation in the championship.
Vijay Saraf also briefed that the accommodation for the participants has been finalized at Vaishnavi Dham, Kalika Dham and Saraswati Dham. The food arrangements for the players and officials have been arranged at MA Stadium Jammu, he added.
Saraf also disclosed that the current World Champion, Asian Games Medalist and Arjun Awardees will be seen in action during the championship.
The welcome party and felicitation ceremony for the Current World Champion and Medalists and coaches will be held tomorrow at 7 pm at J&K Police Auditorium Gulshan Ground Jammu.
The opening and closing ceremony of the championship will be held on December 27 at 11 AM and 4 PM respectively at New Indoor Hall MA stadium Jammu, he said, adding that the presentation ceremony for the medalists will take part on 27th, 28th and 29th December at 4:30 PM.
President Bhupender Singh Bajwa and General Secretary Suhel Ahmed will also attend the function.
