JAMMU, Feb 9: Jammu and Kashmir Tennis Ball Cricket Association in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council is organizing 27th Senior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship in the memory of Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed at different venues, here from tomorrow.
This was informed by Yasir Nazir Salroo, Joint Secretary J&K Tennis Ball Cricket Association while addressing media persons at pree Club, here today.
Mr Salroo said that the Championship, which will witness the participation of over 25 States/UT’s and affiliate units of Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of India, is being sponsored by J&K State Sports Council.
He said that the Chief Minster, Ms Mehbooba Mufti has consented to be the chief guest, while the Minister for IT, TE and Youth Servicers and Sports will be the guest of honour.
“The Championship apart from providing opportunity to the sportspersons to hone their skill and compete with the best in the Country, will also help them to interact with their counterparts of other States and exchange the culture, besides being a step forward in bringing peace and harmony in the State through the medium of sports,” Mr Salroo added.
He said that the State Government is committed to raise the infrastructural facilities in the State, adding that all the arrangements with regard to comfortable stay of the visiting contingents, Transportation, food and ground facilities have been made and assured the Championship will be conducted in a befitting manner.
He informed that the opening ceremony of the Championship will be held at 11 am sharp tomorrow at Mini Stadium, Parade.
Among others who attended the Press Conference included Jitendra Sharma, Secretary General Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of India, BD Verma, Chairman Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of India and Fayaz Ahmed Wani, General Secretary J&K Tennis Ball Cricket Association.
