KATHUA, Jan 18: 26th District Kathua Volleyball Championship 2014 concluded today in Govt High School Gurha Mundian, Hiranagar, here.
In the finals, the Volleyball team of Gurha Mundian, Hiranagar outplayed Volleyball team of Mela, Hiranagar by 4-1 sets.
In the girls section, Govt Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Degree College Hiranagar defeated Govt Degree College Kathua by straight 3-0 sets.
A cash prize of Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 respectively was presented to the winners and runners-up teams and Rs 2000 to the best player.
In addition, the individual prizes were awarded to all the players’ by the District Volleyball Association Kathua.
Later, the Association honoured Veteran Volleyball players of the District who had represented the State at National level.
