2 J&K Bodybuilders selected for International C’ships

JAMMU, June 7: In a proud moment for Jammu & Kashmir, local bodybuilders Vimaljeet and Vikas Khajuria have been selected to represent India in upcoming international Bodybuilding Championships.
Vimaljeet, under the banner of the J&K Sports Council, will compete in three major events: the South Asian Bodybuilding Championship to be held in Bhutan from June 11 to 15, the Mr. Asia Championship in Bangkok from August 18 to 25, and the prestigious Mr. World Bodybuilding Championship in Indonesia from November 11 to 25.
Meanwhile, Vikas Khajuria has been selected to participate in the Mr. Asia Physique Sports Championship, also scheduled for August 18 to 25 in Bangkok.
Rajesh Dutta, Secretary of the Body Building Association of Jammu & Kashmir, highlighted the importance of such events in promoting fitness and steering youth away from negative influences.
“Bodybuilding Championships encourage discipline, dedication, and healthy living. They also play a crucial role in keeping youth engaged and away from harmful practices like drug addiction,” Dutta said.
He emphasized the need to support sports to build a healthier society. Vinay Sharma, Vice President of the Association, along with Sachin Singh Jamwal and Naresh Gupta, were also present during the announcement.
