2-Days Samba Wushu C’ship concludes

SAMBA, Dec 26: The two days District Samba Wushu Championship, organized by the District Association, concluded at the newly constructed Indoor Hall, here today.
Surjit Singh Slathia, vice-president BJP and former Minister was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among the winners. He applauded the Association for organizing the championship and providing a platform to the younger generation of the district.
He congratulated Rajinder Singh, world medallist and five times national medallist for the great feat and encouraging youths of the district samba. He congratulated all the medallists of the recent 30th Senior Wushu Championship including Ishant Singh, Rajinder Singh, Abhijeet Singh and Haqeek Ahmed.
He also applauded the role of Wushu Association of J&K, headed by Vijay Saraf and Kuldeep Handoo for promoting this combat sports in the entire UT J&K and expressed thanks to Secretary Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul for starting Wushu classes in the newly constructed Indoor Hall, here and also assured that he will request the Lieutenant Governor for the better facilities for the Wushu players in the district.
Samba Wushu Club remained overall Champion, whereas the KIC and Ankit Clubs shared runner-up and 2nd runner up positions respectively. The chief guest also felicitated Surya Bhanu Pratap Singh-the 1st Asian Games medallist of the J&K.
Vijay Saraf, president Wushu Association of J&K, Yogeshwar Singh BPC president, Kulbinder Singh District Samba president, Swaran Singh, former PHE president and Kulbinder Singh SGPC president samba were present on the occasion.
Rajinder Singh, secretary District Association presented thanks to Kamal Kishore, Ajay Paul Gill, Ashi Jamwal, Lalit Singh, Abhishek Singh Jamwal, Pankaj and Ankit for the great support to conduct the championship.
