JAMMU, Jan 29: The first Governing Body Meeting (GBM) of the Autonomous College, Government College for Women, Parade was held today under the chairmanship of Prof YR Malhotra, former Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu (JU).
The other members who attended the meeting were Prof Neelam Saraf, Dean Academic Affairs, JU, as University nominee; Prof TA Kawoosa, Director, Colleges, as Government nominee; Prof Seema Jain, UGC nominee, Dr Vijay Gupta (former Principal, Government Medical College, Jammu), etc.
During the meeting, the governing body approved eight external members of the Academic Council of the college, one member of the Finance Committee and presented its views on the formation and functioning of the Board of Studies, Academic Council, Finance Committee and Examination Cell.
The governing body also discussed beginning of Certificate courses and Diploma Courses in different subjects like Clinical-Biochemistry, Interior decoration, Web-designing and other subjects.
Issues like fixation of fee, examination reforms, scholarship and medals were also discussed during the meeting and it was resolved that no change should be made in the fee structure and scholarship and it may be according to the past practice and at par with other colleges.
