JAMMU, Jan 10: The 19th KPL Cricket Tournament, organized by the Orzu Sports, Cultural & Educational Trust, concluded after three days of exciting competition at Jagti Township, here today. The tournament featured 12 teams of under-14 boys and girls, as well as three women’s teams.
The tournament was inaugurated on January 7 by Yudhvir Sethi, Senior BJP leader and MLA, along with MK Yogi, a senior KP leader. The opening ceremony attracted a large crowd of local residents from Jagti and the neighboring village of Nagrota.
On the final day, Dr. Arvind Karwani, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner of J&K, served as the chief guest during the closing ceremony. Senior KP leaders and notable social activists, including M.K. Yogi, Vinod Pandita, and Abhay Bakaya, attended the event as guest of honor. Naveen Gosawani served as the stage secretary throughout the three-day event.
Dr. Arvind Karwani distributed trophies, prizes and mementos to the winners, runners-up and all participants. He praised the tournament for its role in nurturing hidden talent and providing youth with opportunities to pursue careers in sports. Dr. Karwani also assured continued support to the Orzu Trust in its future endeavors.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Subash Zutshi, Chairman of the Orzu Sports, Cultural & Educational Trust. Zutshi expressed his gratitude to the sponsors and acknowledged the contributions of his team members, including Ravi Pandita, Susheel Pandita, Vishal Kanth, Raj Kumar Mehra, Balbir Singh, Chandra Dhar and Vicky Pandita, for their efforts in making the event a success.
