173 Bn BSF organises Volleyball Tournament

JAMMU, Jan 29: In continuation to BSF’s efforts of reaching out to the border population, extending helping hand to the needy, encouraging youth in following healthy life style and promoting sports activities, 173 Bn BSF organised a Volleyball Tournament, which concluded today.
The Tournament was held in the memory of Shaheed CT Gurnam Singh of the Battalion, who made supreme sacrifice of his life on October 21, 2016.
Ten teams drawn from different border villages participated in the Tournament to vie for the top honours.
The final match was conducted between Manguchak-1 and Bobiya-1 team, which was won BY Bobiya at Primary School Village Londi.
Pradeep Katiyal, DIG SHQ BSF was the chief guest on the concluding function, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams.
The participating teams were presented T-shirts, shorts, and gift hampers on the occasion. Kulbir Singh and Jaswant Kour were present on the occasion.
The chief guest in his address advised the youth to participate in games and sports and shun drugs to not to derail from the mainstream.
