14th CEC Ice Hockey tournament concludes

KARGIL, Jan 18: The District level Ice Hockey Championship, organized by District Youth Service and Sports, concluded at Khree Sultan Cho Stadium Bemathang, here today.
Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan was the chief guest, Executive Councillor RD, Tourism and Zanskar Affairs, Er. Punchok Tashi, EC Health Mohsin Ali, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve were the guests of honour and Chairperson Haj Committee UT Ladakh, Ali Majaz and District Youth Service and Sports Officer, Abid Ali were also present during the event.
The CEC hailed the efforts of both winning and runner up teams and also appreciated the efforts of women’s teams for participating in the tournament. “The tournament will be played not only at the UT level but also at the national and international level in future, for which the Council will provide all possible support to every team,” he said.
He said LAHDC is committed to help the young talent of Ladakh to national and international platforms.
Friends Pushkum A emerged winner of the tournament and lifted the trophy by defeating Humus Drass, while in the women category, Down Hill Kargil scripted a win over Wakha Mulbek.
During the prize distribution ceremony, Sarfaraz Ahmad from Friends Pushkum A was declared as player of the match and player of the series and was rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 3000 and Rs 5000 respectively, similarly a cash prize of Rs 3000 and Rs 5000 was also given to Sameena Bano from Down Hill Kargil.
A cash prize of Rs 50000 was given to Friends Pushkum A, while cash prize of Rs 50000 was also awarded to Down Hill Kargil team while Rs 30000 was given to runners up teams.
