13th J&K State Athletic Meet concludes

JAMMU, Dec 27: 13th J&K State Athletic Meet, organized by J&K Athletic Association concluded at Sports Stadium BSF Paloura, here today.
Over 250 boys and girls from all over Jammu and Kashmir State took part in the Meet which was inaugurated by S Rangil Singh, president J&K Olympic Association yesterday.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member Parliament (LS) was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed the medals and certificates among the winners of gold, silver and bronze medals. Munish Sharma, general  secretary, BJP and Sunil Mahajan were the guests of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion  were Prof Ashutosh Sharma, vice president, Athletic Federation of India,  S Ravinder Singh, secretary J&K Athletic Association, Vikas Gupta, joint secretary Judo Federation of India, Sheikh Tulal Ahmed, Romesh Sharma, Nirmal Singh, S. Sarwant Singh Gill, Sharat Chander Singh,  Gurucharan Singh, S. Gurmeet Singh, Sahil Sharma, Gurbachan Singh, Ajay Sharma, Neha Chib, Mrs. Varinder Kour, Manish Chatwal, Sarbjit Singh, Chamail Singh and Vinod Bhatia.
Earlier, In Under-20 boys 400 mtrs, Pankaj Sharma,  Mohd Tariq  and Abid Hussain won gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in 5000 mtrs Under-18 boys, Umar Farooq, Simranbeer Singh and Sahil Kumar clinched gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In 200 mtrs, Abid Hussain  won gold, Aman Tyari clinched silver and Rajat Saini claimed bronze, while in  Under-18 girls 800 mtrs,  K Anupriya, Shakshi Chahan and Ancey claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In 100 mtrs sprint, Narmita Katoch,  Ancey and Priya Sharma won gold, silver and bronze medals, while in Under-16 boys shot put, Sahil Rehman won gold, Harpeet Singh bagged silver and Tufail Ahmed claimed bronze.
In 200 mtrs, Imran Farooq, Rahul Singh and Asaf-ul-Zaman won gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in Under-16 girls 100 mtrs, Kulwinder Kour, Shilpa Charak and Riya Singh won gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In Under-14 boys shot put, Taman Deep Singh clinched gold, Deepak Singh won silver and Sarmohit claimed bronze.
