JAMMU, Nov 6: The 10th District Jammu Handball Championship commenced today at Playfield Shastri Nagar, featuring senior men and women, and junior boys and girls categories. The three-day event is organized by Player Association Handball Jammu in collaboration with the J&K Handball Association and sponsored by J&K Sports Council.
Yudhvir Sethi, MLA Jammu East, was the chief guest at the opening ceremony. He urged players to focus on skill enhancement and maintaining physical fitness. The first match in the junior boys’ section saw Tawi Club defeat Heritage School 14-7, while Vitasta Club won against Jammu Club 6-2 in the junior girls’ section. Around 140 players from various schools and handball clubs are participating in the tournament.
