POONCH, Nov 12: Two day 10th District Handball Championship organised by District Handball Association Poonch under the aegis of the J&K Handball Association, with the collaboration of the J&K Sports Council for senior men, concluded today at Sports Stadium Poonch. A total of six teams took part from across the district. After the entire competition, Poonch Handball Club and Ajote Handball Club managed to secure their positions in the final. This championship was organised on a league-cum-knock out basis.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohd Sayeed graced the occasion as chief guest, while District Youth Services and Sports Officer Poonch Mohd Qasim was guest of honour. They were accompanied by Krishan Lal Sharma (retd DSO JKSC), Mushtaq Ahmed (Manager, Sports Stadium Poonch), Sarla Bakshi I/c ZPEO Poonch, Updeshpal Sharma and Afra Saif (Headmaster HS Ajote) as special guests.
In the final match, Ajote Handball Club defeated Poonch Handball Club by 39-32 goals. The final match was officiated by Imtaiz Ahmed Lone, Aman Sharma and Ghulam Abbas.
Other prominent dignitaries present at the occasion were Pawan Kumar, Sanjay Raina, Tirlochan?Singh, Neeraj Sharma (Coach), D.K. Raina and Ghulam Abbas Imran, Hussain Shah. The whole event was framed and visualised by Sorab Sharma.
