JAMMU, May 26: Fencing Championship organised by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board at Shrine Board Sports Complex, Katra concluded today.
In Epee Event Junior Category (Girls), Pihu Rajput of Government Higher Secondary School Panthal bagged God medal, while Riya Manhas of Government Higher Secondary School Panthal secured Silver medal. Archana Devi of Zorawar Fencing Club and Anu Devi of Panthal Fencing Club got Bronze medals.
In Foil Event Junior Category (Girls), Deepika of Government Higher Secondary School Panthal got Gold medal, while Diksha of Zorawar Fencing Club bagged Silver medal. Himani and Anshika clinched Bronze medals.
In Sabre Event Junior Category (Girls), Shibansi of Government Higher Secondary School Panthal got Gold medal, while Shivali Devi of High School Kambal Danga secured Silver medal. Anamika and Palak Bharti of Higher Secondary School Reasi got Bronze medals.
In Epee Sub-Junior (Girls), Kiran Katoch of Amba Kids bagged Gold medal, while Manya Kabla of Presentation Convent High School Reasi secured Silver medal. Nazia of GGHSS Reasi and Shruti Devi of HS Kambal Danga bagged Bronze medals.
In Foil Event Sub-Junior (Girls), Mehak of Amba Kids Panthal got Gold medal, while Sania Thakur of Hertiage Public School, Katra secured Silver medal. Tamana and Sonia bagged Bronze medals.
In Sabre Sub-Junior (Girls), Sania Mir of Girls Higher Seconday School Reasi bagged Gold medal, while Shilpi Charak, Mamta Rajput and Shruti Devi of Amba Kids Home bagged silver and bronze medals.
In Epee Senior (Boys), Kamal and Vikas of Zorawar Fencing Club, Reasi got Gold and Silver medals respectively whereas Mohit of HSS, Salal secured Bronze medal.
In Sabre Junior (Boys), Ajay Singh and Vikas Kumar of Zorawar Fencing Club got Gold and Silver medals respectively, whereas Aditya Singh and Sunil Singh of DPS Katra bagged Bronze medals.
In Epee Junior (Boys), Ajay Kumar of Zorawar Fencing Club got Gold medal, while Ankush Sharma of HSS Boys Reasi secured Silver medal. Aryan and Mukesh of TSN Reasi and HSS Panthal bagged Bronze medals.
In Foil Junior (Boys), Prashant Chib and Bharat Dogra of Zorawar Fencing Club got Gold and Silver medals respectively, while Kapil Bali of Gurukul Public School Reasi and Rahul Prasher of Royal Fencing Club got Bronze medals.
In Sabre Sub-Junior (Boys), Brij Mohan of HS Kambal Danga got Gold medal, while Mandeep Singh of Amba Kids Home secured Silver medal. Sujan Gulati and Simranjeet of HSS Salal got Bronze medals.
In Epee Sub-Junior (Boys), Mohit Thakur of HSS Salal got Gold medal, while Manzoor Ahmed of Amba Kids Home bagged Silver medal and Anuj Singh of Salal Fencing Club clinched Bronze medal.
In Foil Sub-Junior (Boys), RN Chandyal of Zorawar Fencing Club got Gold medal, while Ramandeep of Royal Fencing Club bagged Silver medal and Imran of Amba kids Home bagged Bronze medal.
Dr Arvind Karwani, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB, Katra was the chief guest on the occasion who presented medals to the position holders in presence of Ashok Kumar, Director Sports, SMVDSB.
In the championship, the champion trophy in boys section was received by the Captain of Zorawar Fencing Club Reasi, whereas in girls section, Government Higher Secondary School Panthal got the trophy.
The matches were officiated by Ajay Kumar, Mohammad Tariq, Arun Dev Singh, Vikas Verma and Rahul Bakshi.
