REASI, May 25: Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYSS), Reasi, organized Inter-Zonal Sports Competitions for Under-14 and Under-17 boys at General Zorawar Singh Stadium, Indoor Sports Complex Reasi and the District Youth Services & Sports Office Reasi.
Competitions were held in Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Badminton, Yoga, Chess, Wrestling and Table Tennis. A total of 437 students participated, including 202 in the Under-14 category and 235 in the Under-17 category.
Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Kumar Abhishek, attended the event as the chief guest.
In Kabaddi finals, Zone Chassana defeated Zone Reasi 29-17 in the Under-14 category, while Zone Reasi outplayed Zone Mahore 30-11 in the Under-17 section.
In Kho-Kho, Zone Reasi emerged victorious in both categories, defeating Zone Pouni by three points in Under-14 and by two points in Under-17.
Zone Reasi also dominated Volleyball, winning the Under-17 title against Zone Arnas by 2-0, while Zone Pouni clinched the Under-14 title by defeating Zone Mahore 2-1.
In Chess, Tanish Thakur of Zone Reasi won the Under-17 title by defeating Aryan Singh, while Aryan Sharma of Zone Pouni emerged winner in the Under-14 category.
The wrestling competition witnessed keen contests across different weight categories. Winners included Naveed Mohammad, Karun Sharma, Shatab Gul, Shubham Katoch, Mohd Yaseen and Tabinder Singh in the Under-14 section, while Mohd Javed, Ankit Singh, Shakeel Ahmed, Rahul Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Saquib Pavez, Virat Rajput, Ankit Jamwal and Kartik Thakur secured titles in the Under-17 category.
In Table Tennis, Yashil of Zone Reasi secured first place, followed by Zahib and Piyush Magotra.
The competitions were officiated by officials deputed by DYSSO Reasi under the supervision of Kuldeep Raj.
