JAMMU, May 3: The Zonal-Level Inter-School Kho-Kho Tournament for U-14 and U-17 girls of Jammu Zone began today at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Bakshi Nagar. The event is organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the leadership of District Youth Services & Sports Officer Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma, and Zonal Physical Education Officer Jammu, Harvinder Kour.
A total of 586 girls from various government and private schools across Jammu Zone participated in the tournament, which serves as a selection process for the upcoming Inter-Zonal Tournament. The tournament was inaugurated with a ceremony attended by the Principal of GGHSS Jammu, Jabeena Akhter, who graced the event as the chief guest.
In her address, Jabeena congratulated all participants and highlighted the importance of sports in character building and youth development. She encouraged students to continue engaging in such events for their physical, mental, and social growth. Harvinder Kour also congratulated the teams for their enthusiasm and sporting spirit, praising the players for displaying exceptional skills and commitment during the tournament.
