UDHAMPUR, May 2: Zonal Level Inter School Competitions for Boys and Girls U-14 years and U-17 years in the disciplines of Carrom and Table Tennis began at Indoor Hall, Subhash Stadium, here today.
About 161 participants, 92 boys and 59 girls drawn from 38 institutions of Zone Udhampur participated in the competition. Ajit Singh (Incharge, Activity Zone Udhampur) interacted with the participants. The competition is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the patronage of Director Youth Services and Sports J&K Subhash Chander Chibber, under the overall supervision of Dharmveer Singh (DYSSO Udhampur) and Deep Kumar (ZPEO Udhampur).
In the discipline of Table Tennis, Harmanpreet Kour, Shivanshi Singh, Khushi Mahajan and Samridhi won in U-14 Girls category while in U-17 Girls category, Divya Thakur, Gurjap Kour, Tejasvani Verma, Vrinda Modi and Varsha Jamwal emerged winners. In U-14 Boys’ event, Sudhir, Rudransh, Prickshit Gupta, Sudhanshu and Akul Jandiyal were winners while in U-17 Boys category, Archit, Lakshdev Singh, Kanav, Devansh and Manik won matches.
In Carrom, Kajal, Priyanshi, Payal Devi, Kritika and Simran Devi emerged winners in U-14 category whereas in U-17 Girls category, Manisha Thakur, Aditi Sharma, Sanjana Devi, Tanvi and Monika Devi won matches. In U-14 Boys category, Vansh Sharma, Shubam Kumar, Madhvan Sharma, Bhavesh and Rickey Kumar were winners while in U-17 Boys event, Harnam Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Akhil Sharma, Rohit Kumar and Kritharth Sharma emerged winners.
All the competitions were conducted by Rakesh Sawhney, Santosh Abrol, Sanjay Gupta, Sunita Gupta, Ashutosh Gupta, Kapil Kumar, Sanjay Gupta, Ashok Kumar, Meenu, Sanjeev Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Palak, Asha Meenakshi, Sonali, Sanjeev Verma, Pankaj Bhardwaj, Mayank Mengi, Mohd Zuber, Mukesh Kumar and Atul Kumar.
