Zonal Level Cricket Tourney for U-17 Boys inaugurated

SAMBA, July 20: An Inter School Zonal Level Cricket Tournament being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports, district Samba, began today at Samba Stadium.
The tournament was inaugurated by District Officer, Subash Chander Bhardwaj. A total of 72 players from different schools of five zones of the district are participating in the tournament. The championship is being held under the guidance of Director General, DYSSO, J&K, Jehangir Mir.
While addressing the participants, Mir suggested the students to remain fit and disciplined and take part in games and sports as they have value in life.
Giving details of the Tournament, the DYSSO Samba explained that earlier they organized matches on inter-school level and now choosing the best players from that tournament they are organizing zonal level tournament. He said that after this zonal level tournament, the players will be chosen for district level tournament. He informed that in the zonal level tournament, participants from five zones of the district will play with each other and then the final match will be played tomorrow.
Those present on the occasion were Rakesh Verma, BD Sharma, Vijay Singh Slathia, Pardeep Singh and Raghubir Singh all Zonal Physical Education Officers and Dr Digvijay Khajuria with his team.
