SRINAGAR, May 2: A grand finale of a musical talent hunt show “Choona Hai Aasman-III” was today held at the Auditorium of College of Education in Srinagar.
The talent hunt competition was hosted by Zonal Police Hqrs Kashmir in collaboration with College of Education in which 22 contestants participated for Junior and Senior titles of Solo Singing only.
Eminent musicians Ejaz Rah, Muneer Mir and Altaf Saahil were the adjudicators of the event.
Minister of Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone was the chief guest, while Vice Chancellor Kashmir University, Talat Ahmad was the guest of honor on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Lone lauded J&K Police for organizing the programme and said that J&K police has faced a lot of challenges during the last two decades and has come up successful in all its endeavors.
Inspector General of Police, Abdul Ghani Mir in his welcome address thanked all participants and the guests and said that the program “Choona Hai Aasman” a musical talent hunt show and other Sports competitions are being sponsored by J&K police over a few years with the aim to give a platform to the talented youth of the State.
22 finalists competed for the Zonal titles who performed in presence of a large gathering of music lovers including students, faculties, civil and police administrations and their families.
Hazif Bilal and Urooj Javed were declared as winners in the junior category, while as Arsalaan Hamid and Lafiz Bilal were declared runners up. Waqar Khan and Masarat Aziz bagged the senior titles while as Tanveer Ali and Sabeeka Wani were declared the runners up.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Divisional Commissioner Shalidar Kumar, DC Srinagar Farooq Ahmad, SSP Srinagar SAH Bukhari, SSP Budgam Uttam Chand , SSP Security Rafiq-ul-Hasan , SP CIK Sheikh Junaid, SP Sopore Imtiyaz Ahmad all zonal SP’s of Srinagar city.
Later-on, DIG SA Mujtaba presented vote of thanks.
