DODA, May 26: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Zahid Naseem Manhas distributed 2 computer sets with full accessories and sports items at village Kashore Jodhpur, where a typing, computer and tailoring centre is running since year 2002.
SSP was accompanied by Additional SP Doda, Vinay Kumar and DySP Headquarters Doda.
About 25 to 30 people of the area including prominent citizens, Sarpanches, Panches and the members of political and social groups were present on the occasion.
The general public said that these items will benefit the youth of the area. They also requested for affiliation of the centre with Technical Education Department.
Manhas while addressing the gathering explained the concept and idea of Civic Action Programme and efforts of J&K Police to bridge the gap between police and public and providing the multiple avenues to the young generation for skill development, honing and also giving opportunities for competing at various levels.
He also stressed upon the participants of the area to promote the constructive activities in the area to strengthen the police public relations and maintaining of communal harmony.
Later, SSP Doda also convened a meeting in the same village and listened to the issues of the residents. The participants put-forth some demands including posting of computer staff at HS Jodhpur and MS Kashore, where the computers are already available, establishment of Crime Police Post at village Kashore, continuous electricity and water supply and providing of ration by CAPD Department.
The participants were assured that their demands will be taken up with the concerned departments for redressal and the issues pertaining to the Police Department will be resolved on priority. Moreover, they were asked to maintain peace and communal harmony in their respective areas.
