JAMMU, Oct 20: Zaffar Club and Rajouri Cricket Club defeated their rivals in the ongoing Shaheed Manjeet Singh Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being held at Government Degree College Ground in Poonch.
In the first match Zaffar Club defeated Royal Club by a narrow margin of 6 runs in close contest.
Batting first, Zaffar Club scored 148 runs in 20 overs by losing 7 wickets. Yaseen played a brilliant innings of 74 runs off 47 balls, while Dheeraj Sharma contributed 21 runs to the total. For Royal Club, Avtar and Shazad took 2 wickets each, while Mustafa claimed one wicket.
In reply, Royal Club got all out at 142 runs in 19 overs, thus lost the match by 6 runs. Nasarat was the top scorer with 47 runs, while Qafat chipped in with 19 runs.
In another match, Royal Club drubbed Kangru Club by a big margin of 89 runs in a one-sided affair. Rajouri Club scored 159 runs with Mickey, Johny and Rohit being the main scorers with 34, 31 and 32 runs respectively. Rakesh Kumar and Mushtaq took 2 wickets each for Kangru Club.
Kangru Club bundled out for a paltry total of 70 runs, thus lost he match by a big margin of 89 runs. Manzoor top scored with 38 runs. Nickey, Vinod and Raja took 2 wickets each for Rajouri.
