Zabarwan CC drubs Azhar XI in Chief Minister’s Cup

JAMMU, Feb 25: Zabarwan Cricket Club Nishat thrashed Azhar XI Kashmir in an easy contest of the ongoing 50-Overs Chief Minister’s Cricket Cup, being organized by Country Cricket Academy in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council at Gharota, here.
The Tournament is being played in the memory of former Chief Minister, Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, under the supervision of Director Country Cricket Academy, Vikrant Sharma.
Earlier, put into bat, Azhar XI scored 192 runs in 44 overs. Asif Mir top scored with 42 runs, Tajamul, Owais Bagoo and Asif Iqbal contributed 34, 32 and 26 runs to the total respectively. For Zabarwan CC, Rauf and Aashir took 3 wickets each, while Hisham Saleem bagged 2 wickets. Irfan and Sajjad claimed one wicket each.
In reply, ZCC chased the score easily in 28 overs.  Muneeb top scored with 57 runs, while Wasim contributed valuable 46 runs to the total. Fazil and Hisham Saleem also chipped in with 23 and 20 runs respectively. For Azhar XI, Owais Nabi bagged 2 wickets, while Gowhar and Umar claimed one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Ashok Singh and Rajinder Sharma as umpires, while Lakshaya was the scorer.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Bhaderwah XI will take on J&K Forest Cricket team at 9 am.
