Youth Club registers win in 3rd Christmas T-20 Cup

JAMMU, Jan 7: Youth Club Bhaderwah registered win over Young Star and entered in the next round of the ongoing 3rd Christmas T-20 Cricket Cup for College Students and J&K Cricketers at Parade Cricket ground, here today.
In the first match, Youth Club Bhaderwah defeated Young Star by 5 wickets.
Batting first, Young Star scored 127 runs in stipulated 18 overs for all out. Nitin was the top scorer with 24 runs, while as Akash made 22 runs and Kewel scored 20 runs.
For Youth Club side, Khalid and Mudassir took 3 wickets each whereas Sheroj and Arshad shared 2 wickets each.
In reply, Youth Club Bhaderwah achieved the target in 16 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Shehbab scored unbeaten 48 runs, whileas Shehroj made 18 runs.
For Young Star side, Nitin was the pick of the bowler with 3 wickets and Sukhwinder took 2 wickets.
Shehbab of Youth Club Bhaderwah was declared as man of the match.
The second match was played between Christian Sports XI and Country Cricket Academy.
Batting first, Christian Sports XI made 154 runs in 18 overs for all out. Vinod smashed some splendid knocks and made 43 runs, while Anchal also contributed 40 runs.
Sant Baksh was the main bowler of Country Cricket Academy who took 7 wickets, whileas Anil and Yogesh shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Country Cricket Academy scored 130 runs in 16 overs for the loss of 4 wickets and in the 17th over due to the poor visibility the batsmen of County Academy appealed for bad-light which was accepted by the Umpires and the match was closed.
Later, the organizing committee announced that the match shall be resumed on some other day and the next date and timing will be communicated to both the teams.
On the occasion, Victor Sotra, vice president, CSO was the chief guest in today’s matches who was introduced with the participating teams. Sotra was accompanied by Rajesh Gill, organizing secretary of the tournament.
The matches were officiated by Sanju, Suhail Yusuf, Vinod and Naresh Kumar.
In tomorrow’s fixture, United Blues will clash with RCC, Srinagar and KC Sports will take on Romi Singh Club.
