DODA, Nov 17: Defeating their rivals convincingly in their league matches and semi-finals, Youth Club Bhaderwah and Farida Club Bhalessa sailed in the finals of T-20 Police Cricket League, being organized by DKR Range Police Headquarters Batote at Cricket Stadium, here today.
The tournament is being organized under the guidance of Dr Sunil Gupta DIG DKR Range, while chairman of the organizing committee is Abdul Qayoom SSP Doda, whereas Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer Doda is coordinator of the league.
Twenty four teams of Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar participated in this league wherein top four teams namely Youth Club Bhaderwah, Farida Club Bhalessa, Aryan CC Banihal and Warriors CC Kishtwar played for semi-finals, today.
The slogan of the tournament is “Khelo Khel and Bhullo Nasha”
In the first semi-final, Youth Club defeated Aryan Club by 47 runs. Batting first, Youth Club Bhaderwah scored 167 runs by losing all wickets in 19.4 overs wherein Irfan made 69 runs, while Babar Hussain scored 32 runs. From the bowling side, Mustaq took 4 wickets, while Draboo Asif took 3 wickets.
In reply, Aryan Cricket Club managed to score 120 runs wherein Asrar made 24 runs and Azim scored 23 runs. From the bowling side Adil Wani took 4 wickets and Danish Wani took 2 wickets. Irfan was declared as man of the match for his brilliant batting.
In the 2nd semi-finals, Farida CC Balessa defeated Warrior CC Kishtwar.
Batting first, Warrior scored 70 runs for the loss of all wickets, in which Amir Nageeb made 21 runs and Sawan Mahi scored 13 runs. From the bowling side, Kewel Kotwal took 4 wickets, while Jatinder Singh took 3 wickets.
In reply, Farida Club Bhaderwah chased the target in 10 overs by losing 1 wickets and registered 9 wickets win over their opponents. Umar was top scorer who made 34 runs and Amir contributed 19 runs. From the bowling side, Arif took the single wicket for his team.
The DIG DKR Range congratulated the finalists for their brilliant performance in their league and semi-finals.
DDC Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal was the chief guest in the semi-final matches. While speaking on the occasion he appreciated the role of DIG DKR and SSP Doda for providing a platform to the players so that they exhibit their sports talent.
