JAMMU, Jan 4: Young Star Cricket Club defeated Bhawani Cricket Club in a close contest by a narrow margin of 12 runs in the ongoing Sadbhavana Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Reasi Cricket Club at Sports Stadium, Reasi.
Earlier, batting first, Young Star scored a modest total of 116 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Ricky was the top scorer with 22 runs, while Abhishek contributed 18 runs to the total. Rahil and Sunny chipped in with 12 runs each. For Bhawani Cricket Club, Anshuman Singh and Sharma scalped 2 wickets each, while Anil and Dheeraj claimed one wicket apiece.
In reply, Bhawani Club managed to score 104 runs in the allotted 20 overs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 12 runs. Deepak top scored with 37 runs, while Anil contributed 16 runs to the total. Vidhur and Ricky scalped 3 wickets each for Young Star, while Sunny and Rahul claimed one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Pankaj and Shubam as umpires, while Varun was the scorer.
Executive Officer Municipal Committee Reasi, Thakur Dass was the chief guest during the valedictory function, who presented man of the match award to Ricky of Young Star Club for his all-round display.
Whites Cricket Club (WCC) Jammu will take on Shan Cricket Club Reasi in the next match at the same venue tomorrow.
