JAMMU, Apr 4: Young Rovers and Hero Football Club defeated their rivals convincingly in the ongoing 26th State Football Championship, being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science College Football Ground, here.
In the first match, Young Rovers defeated NGR via tie-breaker by three goals to one (3-1).
Earlier, in the stipulated time, the match ended (2-2) draw.
In another match, Hero Football Club defeated Param Football Club by three goals to nil (3-0) in an easy contest. Kartik, Rahul Verma and Raghav Gupta were the goal scorers from Hero FC.
The matches were officiated by Ricky Kumar, Abhishek, Ajay, Vijay Kumar, Dheeraj Menia and Ricky.
Prominent among those who witnessed today’s matches were Sheikh Mehmood, District President DFA Jammu; Fayaz Ahmed (District President), S. Kuldeep Singh (Vice President Jammu), Ramesh Chander (Vice President Jammu), SM Gill, Varinder Gupta, Charan Dass and Rajesh Kumar.
