YCC Simbal Camp lifts Digvijay Singh Memorial Cricket Cup

JAMMU, July 4: Youngsters Cricket Club (YCC), Simbal Camp smashed Satrayan Cricket Club (SCC) by 36 runs and lifted Digvijay Singh Memorial Cricket Cup title.
Batting first, Youngsters Cricket Club (YCC) Simbal Camp scored 86 runs, which the opponent Satrayan Cricket Club (SCC) failed to chase and bundled out at 50 runs.
On the valedictory function, Former Minister RS Chib was the chief guest, who presented winner and runner-up trophies to Youngsters Cricket Club, Simbal Camp and Satrayan Cricket Club respectively. Kamal Kishore of YCC was adjudged as man of the match, whereas Sandeep Singh of SCC claimed man of the series title. Deep Raj SDM, RS Pura and Tehsildar Suchetgarh were also present.
While speaking, Chib said that the youth from rural areas must come forward to take part in sports events. He further said that winning or losing game is not an important factor but participation in the game matters.
He also said that the sports plays important role for the overall development of the body and advised the youth to ensure their participation in sports activities alongwith their studies.
The tournament, which was played for around two months, witnessed participation of 64 teams from Jammu district.
