Yarana Indian Baroo wins Charity Cricket Cup

KARGIL, Aug 9: Defeating Sheena Kings XI convincingly in the summit clash, Yarana Indian Baroo Cricket Club lifted the title trophy of Charity Cricket Cup, here today.
Over 90 teams drawn from all over Kargil participated in the tournament which was organised by Yarana Indian Society Kargil.
Social activist Gulzar Hussain Munshi was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Mohammad Hussain Rehnuma was the guest of honour.
The chief guest appreciated the role of the organisers and efforts made by the local youth in running the tournament and generating funds for local orphanage house Ladakh Yateem Trust Lankerchey.
It was informed that more than Rs 5 lakh was collected during the tournament as charity and Rs 40,000 was donated to the Tater Trust.
A cash prize of Rs 60,000 and a trophy was presented to the winners by the cheif guest and a cash prize of Rs 40,000 and trophy to the runners-up team.
