Wushu Asso holding trials to pick probable for National Camp

SRINAGAR, May 9: Wushu Association of India is organising selection trials for juniors and seniors at Sports Authority of India (SAI) Bhopal from May 13 to May 16, 2019.
The team will be finalised for the national coaching camp for Junior Asian Wushu Championship at Brunie and 15th World Wushu championship for seniors at Shanghai.
In order to get better stuff, Wushu Association of Jammu and Kashmir is organising selection trials for the state contingent at Indoor Stadium, Srinagar tomorrow.
It is pertinent to mention here that during the last Junior World Championship at Brazil, J&K Wushu player got first ever medal for the State, while in the 14th World Wushu Championship at Kazan (Russia), 2 players of J&K secured bronze medals.
Chief Coach of India, Kuldeep Handoo who is the CEO of the Wushu Association of J&K and the President of the Wushu Association of J&K Vijay Saraf has appealed the government to prioritise this medal winning combat sport
They said that Wushu is the only sports in the state which has secured medals in the Asian Games, World Championships/ Cups, Asian Championships and SAF Games.
