JAMMU, Sept 14: The annual ‘Wrestling Tournament’ (Dangal) was held at Tohana-Tibba play grounds, today in which a large number of wrestlers, from Jammu province and adjoining area of Punjab participated.
RS Chib, former Minister, was chief guest on this occasion and it was presided over by Thakur Rattan Singh Chib, chairman of the organizing committee.
This function was organized in memory of a saintly figure “Peer Monga Nath, A Social Leader of Watala (now in PoK).
This Tournament is an Annual Feature, and being held over here, but having its history since hundreds of years.
Speaking on the occasion, Chib described Peer Monga Nath, a secular person and a social reformer.
On this occasion, some prominent persons were also honoured by the committee, which include TS Bajwa, Ex-MP, Brig Uttam Singh Chib, Col. SS Chib, Naresh Sharma, SDM RS Pura, Ch Surinder Singh SDPO, R.S Pura and Thakur Kartar Singh.
