Wrestler Nisar lifts 12th Akhali-Buttan Dangal title

REASI, Feb 22: Wrestler Nisar of J&K Police lifted 12th Annual Akhali-Buttan Dangal title by defeating Mukesh Kumar of Pathankot organised at Buttan, here today.
Nisar was adjudged as the best wrestler of the Dangal which was organized by Akhali-Buttan Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association. The title winner wrestler was awarded with cash prize of Rs 18000 while runner-up wrestler Mukesh Kumar got the prize of Rs 13000.
Social activist and vice chairman Katra Indian Style Wrestling Association Sohan Singh Thakur (Sonu) was the chief guest, whereas Shiv Kumar Sharma, president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association presided over the function and Surinder Bhagat president Kabir Sabha Reasi was the guest of honour.
About 43 bouts were played during the Dangal which was organized under the supervision of organizing committee including Numberdar Sohan Lal (president), Ravi Kumar Sharma (Sarpanch), Sham Lal, Datta Ram, Bodh Raj and many others.
The 2nd bout was fought between Muneer of Nagrota and Surjit Singh of Reasi wherein former emerged winner and was awarded with cash prize of Rs12000 while runner-up wrestler Surjit Singh got Rs 5000 and 3rd malli bout was won by Rashid of Domana Akhara Jammu who defeated Suresh Singh of Panthankot.
Subash Chander of Narkote beat Jamat Ali of Nagrota, Subash Chander of Choprashop Udhampur trounced Puran Singh of Reasi, Sadiq of Domana Akhara defeated Shotu of Jindrah, Anil Kumar of Kalka Akhara Reasi got better of Arif of J&K Police, Johny of Himachal Pradesh beat Murad Ali of Domana, Gopal Sharma of Jammu beat Arjun of Jammu, Nadeem of Doda trounced Salman of Choprashop, Dinu of Kathua defeated Sanjay of Jammu and Rajesh of J&K Police beat Vicky of Pathankot.
The proceedings of the Dangal were conducted by Naresh Kumar and Mohd Fareed, whereas bouts of Dangal were officiated by Om Parkash Verma, Deepak Wazir and Banarasi Lal.
