UDHAMPUR, June 12: Pahalwan Benia Bin of J&K Police lifted 108th Annual Kathiel (Majalta) Dangal title by defeating wrestler Krishan of Delhi in a very tough fight for the main bout at Village Kathiel, here today.
The wrestling event was organized by Kathiel Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of president Kathiel Dangal Committee, Mulk Raj.
Ex MLA Ranbir Singh Pathania was the chief guest who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runner-ups wrestlers, while event was presided over by president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and BDC Chairman Dina Nath, Dr Bishan Dass and Aam Aadmi Party leader Raj Kapoor were the guests of honour.
Wrestler Benia Min was awarded with cash prize money of Rs 31000, while runner-up Krishan was awarded with cash award of Rs. 20000 by the dignitaries.
The second main bout was won by Vijay of UP by defeating Sonu of Kathua, while 3rd bout was won by Ankush of Sonipat who defeated Bablu of J&K Police and 3rd bout was won by Surjeet Singh of Reasi by defeating Sonu of UP, besides 4th bout was won by Fiza of Billawer by defeating Virender of Delhi.
Madan Lal of Reasi beat Chandervir (UP), Chain Singh (Reasi) defeated Sumit of Delhi, Man Hussain (Jammu) trounced Gynsham of Delhi, Arjun (Jammu) beat Sourav of U.P, Raj Singh (Samba) got better of Akash of Sonipat, Salman (Choprashop) beat Majeed of UP and Liakat Ali (Jammu) beat Babber of Kathua.
Retd Master Mulk Raj (President), Sher Sikander, Rattan Chand Khajuria, Prem Chand Khajuria, Channay Ram (Ex. Sarpanch) Mohinder Singh and others were the members of Kathiel Dangal Committee who conducted the event smoothly.
Proceedings of the event were conducted by Deepak of Kangra (H.P) and Lochan Singh.
