Wrestler Ajay of Udhampur lifts 61st Sankri Dangal title

KATRA, Aug 23: Wrestler Ajay Kumar of Landen Power House in District Udhampur clinched the 61st Annual Sankri Dangal title defeating wrestler Chandan of Ludhiana in Punjab in 9 minutes long bout at Sankri Devta Devsthan in Panchari, Udhampur.
Dangal was organized by Meer Dangal Committee in Collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and Department of Youth Services and Sports under the over all supervision of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and Lashman Singh.
Winner Ajay Kumar and runner-up Chandan Wrestlers of the 1st main bout were awarded with cash prize of Rs 3,100 along with Pagri and Rs 2,000 respectively by president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and Tehsildar, Panchari who is also Mela officer, Romesh Singh and president Peace NGO Narinder Sharma.
Around 70 wrestlers drawn from Udhampur, Reasi and Jammu districts participated in the one day long wrestling event. In all 39 bouts were played.
Tehsildar Panchari Romesh Singh who is also Mela officer was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runner-up Wrestlers. Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India Shiv Kumar Sharma  Presided over the Function.
