World Cup winning woman kabaddi player sits in dharna for job

Bokaro, Feb 5:
Vindhyavasini, a member of the Kabbadi World Cup winning team, today staged a day-long dharna near the office of Bokaro Deputy Commissioner demanding that the government fulfil its promise of providing her a job.
“I was promised a job by the government twice, the latest being by Chief Minister Hemant Soren last month. But nothing has happened so far,” said the player, who was in the Indian team which won the world title in March 2012.
“No official came to meet me during the dharna,” she claimed.
“If the job assurance is not fulfilled within 10 days, I will stage another demonstration in Ranchi. This time along with my family members,” she said.
Stating that the first assurance came during Arjun Munda’s regime, she referred to the government’s latest policy to give a job straightaway to international medal winners. (PTI)
